Day 9 - ‘Answer Me’: The Prayer of Elijah

 In 1 Kings 18:37, we see the nation of Israel being steered away from God by King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. Insert Elijah, a wild eccentric, bold messenger of the Almighty God. With certain death at stake, Elijah issues a challenge. Whoever’s God is the one true God will bring fire to their sacrifice. Elijah goes to God with the only words he knew to pray, “Answer me”. 

Stories like this are great because it reminds us that God is truly amazing. There’s nothing too big, too complicated, too hard for Him. He is God over all. Sometimes all we need is for God to answer a prayer.
