Day 4 - ‘Give Me a Sign’: The Prayer of Gideon

Jan 11, 2024    Jackie Frasure

In Judges 6:17 Gideon prays to God and asks him for a sign. Some Bible teachers and pastors frown upon asking God for a sign. There is some caution that we should exercise, asking God over and over to “prove it again” instead of believing. However, there are rare occasions when God does not frown upon it. In fact, in Gideon’s case - God answers this prayer twice!

If you sense God has asking you to do something far greater, vastly higher, and much more difficult than you can imagine - it may be appropriate to ask God for a sign. The stakes are so high, you need to be certain. In cases like this, pray the prayer of Gideon: “Give me a sign”.
